I had so much fun creating my first slideshow I decided to make a second one featuring the paintings of my online exhibit, the Playful Palette: Colorful Experiments in Abstract.

I decided to do a flip through of one of my sketchbooks. This particular sketchbook, which I started using in November, contains paper that is good for mixed media, so I tested a lot of different mediums on its pages, including pen, pencil, gouache, paint markers, water soluble oil paints and alcohol markers. The sketchbook isn't finished yet, but it was fun to look back to see what I doodled and scribbled over the last few months and to see what worked and what didn't work. As you will see not all of the pages are filled nor does everything look good, but that's the point of sketchbooks; they are places for trying out ideas and materials, practicing skills, drawing out thoughts, adding notes and if I am lucky creating a piece or two that looks good. Anyway, enjoy this peek into my sketchbook.
