I originally planned to paint over this image, but as I looked at it I realized I still liked the idea: our hearts becoming clean because of the blood of Christ. The original underpainting was done in acrylic, but this time I went over it with blue oil pastel for the background and oil paint for the heart. To make the painting experience more pleasurable, I changed up my painting style by dabbing on and dripping the paint. I knew I had gotten it right when last night as I looked at the piece I started to sing, "Nothing But The Blood." (See lyrics above). Thank you, Jesus for saving my soul.

I finally got back to making art after taking a break to focus on this new platform for my art. Anyway, unexpectedly, one evening last week I was quite productive. I had found various incomplete pieces, like beads set aside but never made into jewelry, some image transfers on stretch fabric with the background color all wrong, etc. Normally, I toss aside the works that don't come together, but that evening after I crocheted a bit, I completed assembly of my beads for a necklace, re-colored the background of my image transfers and I painted. The painting I worked on and its story is posted above. It just reminds me that I might quit, but God never quits His work on me.
